You can call them tree huggers, animal lovers or nature lovers, but there are plenty of people that are preaching the case that while mice do not need to be in your home, there is also no need to brutally kill them in the process.  The search for humane mouse traps has started and believe it or not, there are a variety of traps that are designed to help you catch the mouse and release it back into the wild without harming it.

Oddly enough, one of the best humane mouse traps is called the Humane Mouse Trap.  This is a device that is meant to easily catch the mouse so that you can let it go freely later.  It has a specific design that will snap the door closed once the mouse comes into it.  Instead of using poison, you can use some cheese or other substance that mice are known to enjoy.  The mouse will be drawn in and then once they are on the food, the door closes and you can then take the trap out to another location to get released.

A very unique humane mouse trap that is on the market is the Victor Repeating Mouse Trap.  This trap is lauded because it does not harm the mouse at all once it is inside.  Some traps will either flip the mouse over to disorient it or put the mouse in a separate compartment.  This trap does neither of these.  You may want to take note that glue boards are also available for this trap, but if you use them, you turn your humane mouse trap into a killer.

If you have problems with rodents other than mice, you may want to check out the Havahart traps.  These traps are not only successful at trapping mice, but also in capturing various other forms of rodents that can cause the homeowner problems.  The internal features of the trap make it a very likeable option for animal lovers.

While these are only three versions of humane mouse traps, there are plenty more on the market.  While they all operate under the same premise, there is usually one difference in that they are either spring loaded and rolling traps or they are single compartment traps.  This is something that people are very concerned about as even though the spring loaded traps are considered humane because they do not kill the mouse, there is the danger that the mouse can be hurt as the barrel rolls over and they are released into the second compartment.

You can be assured that regardless of the type of humane mouse trap that you want to use, you will have plenty of options to pick from.  If you want to keep the mouse alive and are not so concerned about them getting injured, you can use just about any trap on the market.  If the spring loaded traps are a concern, you will want to stick with the single compartment traps that ensure the mouse is merely trapped until you take it and let it go again.
