Humane and mouse trap is probably a combination of words that you would never think to combine, but there is actually a movement to ensure that while it is agreed that the rodents need to banished from your house, killing them in a cruel manner is not a necessity. That being the case, humane mouse traps are becoming more popular.
The question then comes to mind as to what exactly is humane? After all, we are talking about a mouse here, not a person. For some, a snap trap is considered to be humane in the fact that it instantly kills the mouse and they are not put through the misery of being stuck on a glue trap and starving to death over the next couple of days.
Of course, there is the other side of the coin that says that even killing them is wrong. If you can somehow just catch them and then release them outside of your house, it is a much better way and more humane. It is hard to argue positively in any manner that actually killing something is more humane than catching it and letting it go. Therefore, for the sake of argument, a snap trap is not humane because it actually kills the mouse.

You can rest assured that you are not alone in your efforts to catch mice in a humane fashion.
The varieties of the humane mouse traps that you will see is actually quite amazing. They come in more shapes and sizes that you can imagine. From simple concoctions that look like something that a six year old would make up to some pretty inventive ideas that look very inviting. Now what a mouse finds inviting is another matter, but they appear to do the job very well and have some pretty good reviews.
A benefit of a humane mouse trap versus a snap trap or glue trap is that it is reusable. Once you catch the little critter and let them go, you can bring the trap back home with you and set it right back up again. With glue traps and snap traps, that is hardly an option. This of course means that in the long run, you will end up saving a decent amount of money. So much so, that you can justify the weak spot in your heart for Mickey by citing the economic savings.
If you are a believer in what comes around goes around or you just believe that viciously killing a mouse does not make sense, humane mouse traps are a viable option to rid your home of the unwanted invader. You can save a few bucks and feel a little better about yourself in the process.
